The Good Web Guide Awards 2017: The Results!

The Good Web Guide Awards 2017

On Monday night our Commercial Director, Tony, had the pleasure of attending the awards ceremony for the Good Web Guide Awards for 2017. Having been a judge for one of the categories, he was delighted to be present when the winners were announced at The Royal Institution of Great Britain.

The category Tony was responsible for judging -  Travel & Leisure - was won by the excellent Timbuktu Travel, a company that’s revolutionising the way people plan their African safaris by handing over complete control to the traveller, saving them time and money along the way.

Tony had this to say; “Although the competition was stiff, it was a thoroughly deserved win. The Timbuktu Travel site combines striking imagery and inspiring content with a clean and simple UI, all of which make for a great user experience. I was particularly impressed with the features for creating customised trips; customers are able to change all aspects of a tour including hotels, durations and optional excursions for each step of the journey. This is not an easy process, but they’ve executed it very well!”

Website of the year went to Biscuiteers, who also won the Food & Drink site of the year. Another notable winner was Smartify – a free app that helps people connect with art – who picked awards for both ‘Art/Culture’ and ‘App of the Year’.

We’d like to say a big thanks to Arabella and her team for asking Tony to be a judge and for putting on an excellent event – we can’t wait for next year.
